I bet you're wondering what our collab is about. Well, Since it's the week of Valentine's day, we figured we could do something to make your valentines day the best it could be! So, are you planning on having a party for Valentines Day this year? Well Emma and I have the perfect D.I.Y for decorations and of course, desserts! The desserts Will be on my blog and the decorations will be on Emma's blog, which is why you MUST visit her blog or else your valentines day will only be half amazing.
So on my blog, I will be sharing how to make your own donuts for valentines day! There's so many different ways to decorate them to, so have fun with it. I know I will! I mean, who doesn't love donuts?
Things You Will Need:
- 2 packages of dry yeast
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 3/4 cup of lukewarm milk
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 4 cups of all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup of shortening
- 2 eggs
- a pot (to cook the donuts in)
- a few brown paper bags (amount will vary on how you coat the donuts)
- Canola oil (you'll need enough to fill up your pot halfway)
- white sugar
- cinnamon
- chocolate (any kind will do, I will use milk chocolate)
- any kind of filling you would like (I am using Raspberry Jam)
What To Do:
First, soak the yeast and the sugar in the water, and let sit until the yeast rises. Then, mix that with the milk, shortening, salt, eggs, and flour. Next, let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour. After you let rise, roll it out and shape it as hearts (make sure not to make them too thin, but be as creative as you would like). Once again, let it rise for 40 to 60 minutes. Then prepare your sugar and cinnamon in a bag to cover the donuts in. Now you can pot your donuts in and flip when a nice golden brown. When the donuts are cooked you can either coat them in sugar, or wait for them to cool and fill with jelly or cover in chocolate. Finally, Enjoy!
Conclusion:
These donuts are so fun to make, I enjoyed whipping them up so much! Don't forget to check out Emma's blog or else your party will not be complete!
